About Song
"Canon in D" by Johann Pachelbel is one of the most recognizable classical compositions in history. Often played at weddings, its repeating chord progression is legendary.
Adaptation for Kalimba:
- Transposed to C: The original is in D Major (requires F# and C#), but this tab is transposed to C Major so you can play it on a standard 17-key kalimba without retuning.
- The Cycle: The song is built on a strict 8-chord loop. Once you master this pattern, you can play almost any variation of the song.
- Harmony: This piece sounds best when you eventually learn to play the bass notes and melody together (chords).
